Since its start in 2018, the Polecat Classic has always been about competition, camaraderie, and, of course, creative prizes. In its inaugural year, the tournament featured just three trophies—awarded to first, second, and third place finishers. By 2019, new awards like the Lumberjack Award and Rookie of the Year were introduced, adding even more excitement to the event.
Over the years, the list of prizes has continued to evolve, with some awards becoming staples and others making only a single appearance—like The Grip and Grin and The Fastest Disc Thrown. Some of these could make a return... you never know. Beyond performance-based awards, the tournament has also embraced style, with categories like Best Dressed Team and Best Dressed Individual celebrating players who bring flair to the fairway.
While awards may change, one thing remains constant: honoring our champions. From two-time winners like Cory and Acorn to notable figures like Kevin Kemmery—who, despite being the second-ever champion, is now banned—the Polecat Classic has built a legacy of unforgettable victors. As the tournament grows, so will the ways we celebrate the players who make it great, ensuring each year is just as legendary as the last.

This was the first year for the Lumberjack Award and the Rookie of the Year Award. The 2019 Lumberjack Award was a slice of wood with the Polecat logo and name burned into it, while the Rookie of the Year Award was a crystal-style trophy.
Additionally, several hidden challenges were scattered throughout the tournament. Players were unaware of these challenges, and while the full list has been lost, they included tasks such as hitting specific trees on certain holes or using the tennis court approach on hole 12. Prizes for these hidden challenges varied, with Polecat discs and Google Home Minis among them.

Additionally, a Polecat app was created for Polecat Fantasy, a mini-game open to all participants. The winner received a giant check and a crisp $20 bill. Players selected three players from three different groups, aiming for their combined scores to total exactly 222. Here is a link to a video that showcases the app and explains how Polecat Fantasy worked: VIDEO.
At the after-party, a Beersbee tournament was held. Beersbee is a popular yard game played with two teams of two, two large poles, beer bottles, and a frisbee. Players must keep one drink in their hand at all times during gameplay. For more information about Beersbee, it can be found under various names, including Beersbee, Frisknock, and Bottle Bash.
The winners of the Beersbee tournament received a tall glass mug engraved with '2020 Beersbee Champion' and an exclusive red, white, and blue 2020 Polecat Classic wristband.

The Lumberjack Award was a hatchet with the Polecat name burned into the handle, which was then stuck in a piece of wood. There was no Rookie of the Year trophy this year.
The Best Duos award turned into the Best Team award, as teams could consist of any number of people. To determine the Best Team, the player with the best score and the player with the worst score on a team would be averaged. This format aimed to encourage everyone to try their hardest. The Best Team award was the same trophy as the Best Duos award from the previous year.
Best Dressed was not part of the awards this year.
Sleeping with the Fishes was an award given to the person who lost a disc on hole 6. For the first time in Polecat history, players were required to play from the long tee on hole 6, which is near a body of water.
The Wingfoot Award was for the player with the best shoes. Who else but Josh Hinkle to win that, right?
For this Polecat, there were 3 tiers for entry:
Tier 1: $40, 1 entry, and a basic goody bag.
Tier 2: $100, which included a premium goody bag and access to the County (Country) Club (though people didn’t know that until the day before).
Tier 3: VIP for $1,000, which included a limo ride for your whole team to the Polecat. No one bought this tier for some reason.
Everyone who paid the $100 and was had a chance at winning a title belt. County Club members competed were the only ones eligible to win this belt and AJ was the winner of that title.
Finally, the 5-Year Club is made up of anyone who has attended every single Polecat, including players and caddies. All members received an embroidered jacket.

AJ and Biggs had to play a sudden death match to decide who would take 2nd and who would take 3rd place. It took 3 sudden death holes to determine the winner. Acorn scored a Polecat Classic low of 55 while winning his 2nd consecutive Polecat Classic.
1st and 2nd place trophies were red, gold, and white, very similar to the trophies from Year 1 (2018). The trophies were meant to match the wristbands given out, and these wristbands also matched the 2018 wristbands.
The Lumberjack Award was won by Zac Loraditch, though he almost forfeited it to the runner-up, Austin Good. Zac left the Polecat but managed to return just in time for the awards. This year’s Lumberjack Award was a guitar with a disc stuck in it, along with the Polecat Classic logo etched into the body.
We celebrated 100 holes played for those who had attended every Polecat since the first year. Each of these players received a medal to commemorate the achievement.
Ryan Vaughn spent hours before the Polecat perfecting his Demon (Finn Balor from WWE) makeup to take home Best Dressed. Thomas and Cory donned Flint Tropics uniforms to win Best Dressed Team!
Dom (a rookie) and Magic Mike were the duo with the lowest average score. Each player in the 2023 Polecat Classic was paired with someone else based on their skill level.
Grip & Grin was a new award given to the player who complained the most during the Polecat. The High Octane Award, also new this year, went to the person who threw the fastest disc. Todd threw a disc at 53 mph! Cara was in charge of the radar gun and made sure to get multiple readings from each person throughout the day.
Finally, the Sponsor of the Year Award went to Monica (Austin's mom) for her consistent help with food and other Polecat needs. She received a trophy that features several empty spaces for future plaques.

AJ and Todd had to play a sudden death match to decide who would take home the first-ever Polecat Pro Series award. It took 2 sudden death holes to determine the winner. The Pro Series is for those in the Polecat group looking for a more competitive challenge or those who have scored so low in past Polecats that they are automatically assigned to this group. AJ took home a beautiful Polecat ring made of steel and plated in gold. The ring has ‘2024 Polecat’ engraved on one side, while the other side states ‘Pro Series.’ The top of the ring features the classic Polecat logo, and on the inside of the band, the GPS coordinates for Wingfoot Lake State Park are engraved.
1st and 2nd place trophies for the Polecat Classic were blue, black, and gold, with a lightning theme. A blue and white tie-dye wristband was given out to match the blue and lightning theme.
The Lumberjack winner was Kyle Holland, making him the first-ever 2-time Lumberjack winner. This year’s Lumberjack Award was a slice of wood and a Polecat disc turned into a clock!
Zac Loraditch embraced his alter ego, Gay Andy, to take home the Best Dressed Individual award. This award was a metal Polecat logo pendant with the engraving “2024 Best Dressed.” The pendant came with a necklace!
The Scotland trio of Austin, Zack, and Ryan, along with their caddie, Alex, donned kilts to take home the Best Dressed Duo award. The Best Dressed Duo Award was an exact replica of 'The Shoes' mounted onto a plaque—same make, model, and year, just in a slightly larger size.
Finally, the Sponsor of the Year Award went to Monica (Austin's mom) for her consistent help with food and other Polecat needs. She received a plaque that will fit onto her trophy from 2023!
